     I am posting this so anyone who is looking for PVP IO's for their build or just to sell and make a whole lotta $$

Info on the Alignment Clubs and Merits

* Finding the Clubs: Go to Trident Base in Atlas Park or The Crucible in Cap au Diable. Check your mini-map -- they're marked as a green dot (gate icon).

* Admittance: This is the reward for remaining (or becoming) a true Hero or Villain. The only toons excluded are those currently Vigilante or Rogue.

* Alignment Merits (A-Merits)

* Do not confuse them. They are a new type of Merits not to be confused with Reward Merits (completing arcs, Task Forces, Raids, killing Giant Monsters) or Vanguard Merits (killing Rikti once you've been initiated into the Vanguard).

* How to get A-Merits:

* Do a Morality Mission. A Hero Morality Mission will give you a Hero Merit and a Villain Morality Mission will give you a Villain Merit. Note that since it takes 10 morality points to get a Morality Mission and you can only get 5 morality points per day, thus, you can only get an A-Merit this way once every other day.

* Buy one. Go to the A-Merit Vendor in the Alignment Club and trade in 10,000,000 INF + 25 R-Merits + 50 V-Merits and buy one A-Merit. You can only do this once per day.

* A-Merit Vendors:

* Trident: See B.O.T.L.E.R. and click on the box next to him.

* Crucible: See the Trashman and click on the trash can next to him.

* NPCs and Teleporters: The NPCs in the clubs have a portal that take you the Task/Strike force they or their sidekick gives out.

* Trident: The Freedom Phalanx take you to their respective TFs: Positron, Synapse, Sister Psyche, Citadel, Manticore, Numina, Statesman.

* Crucible: Recluse's Lieutenants don't have their own Strike Force, but they teleport you to their sidekick's or related NPC's Strike Force:

* Arbiter Rein -> Operative Renault (Sharkhead SF)
* Mako -> Barracuda
* Ghost Widow -> Lord Recluse
* Sirocco -> Ice Mistral
* Black Scorpion -> Silver Mantis

Aha, so this is what you were babbling talking about last night!  ^_^

I took a very brief peek inside Fort Trident -- funny that you enter through a cave and exit through a submarine, but whatever, heh heh.  I haven't explored everything, and I haven't done any hero or villain morality missions yet, but now I have more reason to.  Thanks for the info, Nster!

After I did my second morality mish with my V, I noticed I didn't get any more tips. Is it coincidence or is there a limit on how many morality missions you can do?

I don't think there's a limit on how many you can do, just on how many count in the span of 24 hours.  Maybe they stop dropping once you reach that limit?  I'm not sure.

So I went through 10 Tip mishes on Heli and got a Hero Morality mish to drop, and I ran that.  It gave me 50 reward merits upon completion, but no Hero Merit.  I thought that might have been either a bug or due to a mistake I made, but it turns out that's how it's supposed to go.  The first time you get a Morality/Alignment mish for either a Hero or a Villain, it gives you 50 reward merits, but once you go through 10 more Tip mishes and another Morality mish, then you get a Hero Merit or Villain Merit.

Here's a link to a discussion on the main CoH board about it:

Hero Merits

So basically, it takes awhile to get the merits that you can eventually use to buy purple recipes.  Over the span of at least 4 days (since you can only run 5 Tip mishes per 24 period and have them count) and after doing 22 mishes (20 Tip mishes and 2 Hero or Villain Morality mishes) will you get your first Hero Merit or Villain Merit.  Then it's another 10 Tip mishes (5 per day) and another Morality mish to get another, and so on.  As I understand it, running on a team doing Tip mishes will fill your progress bar, even if the Tip mishes being done aren't yours, and doing mishes that are, say, Vigilante rather than Hero may screw up your alignment progress (filling your Vigilante bar instead, making any Hero-oriented Tip mishes not count if you've already done 5, regardless of which alignment), so it's important to make sure that the team you're on all want to do the same kind of Tip mishes if you wish to avoid delaying things.

Also, just FYI, the purple recipes available in the new Forts (Fort Trident in AP) have different costs.  The regular purple recipes cost 20 Hero Merits.  The PvP purple recipes cost between 30 and 35 Hero Merits.  I'm sure the cost is the same villain-side, I just haven't checked there yet.  Which means you'll be running Tip mishes and Morality mishes for awhile before you can get enough Hero merits or Villain Merits to get the purple recipes you want.

so mathematically it will take you 350 Tip missions with 35 Morality missions, plus the original 10 TM's and 1 MM to start the collection...
          hmmm *squeezes brain cells forcing them to do math*
           a whopping 396 total missions (thats if you don't make a mistake and select the wrong mission type) to get ONE! of the purp PvP IO's ....  ugh!
           or you could say about 180 days doing 5 missions per day.. the moralities you can do the same day as the last of the 10

  So to fill up just one power with a full pvp set would take you about 3 years-- doing about 2376 missions

           Ok well let's get started!!!!

LOL!  Yeah, it's not exactly designed to let people get the good stuff easily or quickly.  Of course, you're talking about the PvP purples.  Since I don't PvP, all I need to do is get 20 Hero Merits (still a lot) to buy a regular purple, and if I'm working on a set that costs less on the market than certain others, I can just buy a purple recipe I don't need and sell it so I'll have the dough to buy the recipe(s) I do want.  Priciest ones on the market seem to be the damage-inducing ones, rather than the mez-enablers.

Still, it would be awesome if they would add more variety to the Tip mishes because even doing it enough to get one Hero Merit means you'll likely see the same mishes pop up a couple of times.  This probably doesn't bother the farmers, but I like varied content.  Presumably we'll get more with i19.
